Year 2024
Perhaps the greatest challenge we are facing today in our society is that of a lack of conviction in people’s hearts. We are living in a time in which more than ever before we witness people creating their truth (John 14:6) and thus justifying their fallen nature. There has been an alarming increment in the number of people who have bought into a false narrative of who they truly are and have been created by God to be (John 1:12-13). The emotions people struggle with today such as angst, hurt, bitterness, anger, emptiness, frustration, inadequacy, helplessness, fear, guilt, loneliness, depression, being overwhelmed, resentment, failure, sadness, and jealousy at unprecedented levels have been normalized, in a sense, and dismissing the idea that all these emotions are a manifestation of a need for a Savior for our sinful condition (Matthew 1:21). It is imperative we approach this year with the urgency it deserves and with the love of the Father to minister to a hurting and dying (spiritually) world. It is what we have been called to do in all authority (Matthew 28:18-19). We have a great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us and are currently cheering us on (Hebrews 11). As we do the Lord’s work, we must keep our eyes on Jesus the founder and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2). He is with us (Immanuel)! Let us move into this new year with a greater vision of what God is doing in a turbulent world. He is working!

Tal vez el reto más grande que confrontamos hoy día en nuestra sociedad es la falta de convicción en los corazones de la gente. Vivimos en un tiempo donde más que nunca vemos la gente creando su propia verdad (Juan 14:6) y así justificando su condición caída. Ha habido un incremento alarmante de personas en que han creído la falsa narrativa de quienes verdaderamente son y han sido creados por Dios para ser (Juan 1:12-13). Las emociones con que luchan la gente tales como ansiedad, dolor, amargura, enojo, vacío, frustración, inadecuado, desamparo, temor, culpabilidad, soledad, depresión, abrumado, resentimiento, fracaso, tristeza, y celos a niveles sin precedentes ha sido normalizado, en cierto sentido, y rechazando la idea de que todo esto es una manifestación de la necesidad de un Salvador de su condición pecaminosa (Mateo 1:21). Es imperativo que emprendamos el nuevo año con la urgencia que merece y con el amor del Padre para ministrar a un mundo herido y muriendo (espiritualmente). Es a lo que hemos sido llamados hacer con toda autoridad (Mateo 28:18-19). Tenemos una gran nube de testigos que han ido antes que nosotros y actualmente nos animan (Hebreos 11). Al llevar a cabo la obra del Señor, tenemos que mantener la mirada puesta en el autor y consumador de nuestra fe (Hebreos 12:1-2). ¡Él está con nosotros (Emanuel)! Vamos a movernos en este año con mayor visión de lo que Dios esta haciendo en medio de un mundo turbulento. ¡El aún está obrando!
